Privacy Policy

Ownix Home (operated by ownix.io) helps families organize household information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we store and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Data we collect

Account & identity: your mobile phone number (used for OTP login and, where available, Truecaller verification) and basic profile details you provide.

Family data: family group membership, member lists, and invitations you send or receive.

Household content: information you add to the app — shopping lists, notes (text, checklists, images, drawings and audio recordings), saved passwords in your vault, vehicle and appliance records, and uploaded documents.

Smart QR & call data: when you activate a smart QR code, we process related call logs and may record calls routed through the smart QR call manager, shown to you with masked caller identifiers.

Feedback you submit: if you use "Share feedback", we store the message and any image you attach, linked to your account, so we can respond and improve the app.

Contacts: we do not read your device contacts. The "save to contacts" action opens your phone's own new-contact screen, pre-filled, and you choose whether to save it.

Diagnostics & analytics: we use third-party tools to keep the app reliable and improve it — Sentry (crash and performance reports), Google Analytics / Firebase (usage and feature-engagement events), and Microsoft Clarity (anonymized session replays and heatmaps that record how you navigate and interact with the app — such as taps and scrolls). Sensitive content — including your vault passwords, login verification codes, phone numbers, health and medical records, document contents, and personal notes — is masked and is not captured in these recordings. These tools may collect device details, app version, a randomized identifier, and interaction data. We do not use them for advertising and we do not sell this data.

2. How we store your data

Your data is stored on our managed cloud infrastructure. Uploaded files and documents are stored in cloud object storage (Amazon S3). Login tokens and your phone number are stored on your device using secure local storage; your vault PIN is kept in memory only and is never written to disk. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.

3. Sharing within your family

Content you add to a shared family space (such as family shopping lists, notes, the family vault, and shared documents) is visible to other members of your family group. You belong to at most one family group at a time. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share data with service providers (e.g. cloud hosting and storage, crash and analytics tools) strictly to operate the app, and where required by law.

4. Data retention & your rights

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete your profile; when a family is dissolved or you leave it, related family records and pending invitations are removed. OTP codes are short-lived and discarded after verification. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
